Pony Party

Well, our baby girl will turn 4 tomorrow.  Still cannot believe she is that old.  It seems like  the time is just flying by us.  We celebrated yesterday with a pony party at Kiddie Acres.  This is a place in Austin, Tx. that has vintage rides for little kids and ponies too.  All the girls got pink cowgirl hats and pink slap bracelets to take home.   Here are a few pics from the afternoon.

Pinterest Saturday

Hey out there in blogland!  It has been awhile again!  Sorry.  Our summer was just busy, busy, busy!  School starts on Tuesday and we are all ready to get back into our routines!  Woohoo!  I have not had a chance to work on anything new but I hope after next week that I can get back into my groove of organizing and blogging.  I just wanted to share a couple of awesome things I found on Pinterest this week.  Love that Pinterest.  Enjoy and get some great ideas!

Kitchen and Art Storage

Hey out there in blog land!  It has been awhile but I am still out here!  Summer is just busy and flying by at record speeds.  I cannot believe school starts in less than 3 weeks!  Yikes!  Still so much to do to get ready.

Anyway, we finally got our water heater fixed.  My husband did all the work himself.  He is so awesome and handy!  I had a garage sale yesterday and am slowly getting rid of all the stuff in our garage.  We are going to try and work on the organizing alittle today.  I will be posting the re-organization soon, soon, soon!

Until then, I decided to reorganize another space that has been bugging me.  Here is the post about our Pie Safe turned Art Cabinet(http://timetoorganize-rebecca.blogspot.com/2012/03/pie-safe-to-art-cabinet.html).

Well, it started to get really junky looking and I would just shut the doors and ignore it!  Not a good tactic.  I have also wanted to clear off my kitchen cabinets for awhile.  We buy new things and because our kitchen is small, I did not have anywhere to put anything.  Solution:  IKEA!!!

I love IKEA.  Whenever I want to organize I hit IKEA, Target or the Container Store.  IKEA is my favorite though!  Anyway, what was I talking about?  Oh yeah, the Pie Safe had to go.  In its place we have put these lovely shelves.

Nice and open!  I can see everything and there is no excuse not to keep it clean and organized.

My wonderful husband putting the shelves together for me.

We bought a couple of these cute baskets to hang on the shelves.  Love 'em!

I cleaned out the pie safe and went through the art supplies getting rid of old things.  I also discovered that I had 3 or 4 containers of crayons so I condensed that down to one.  You can see them in the yellow bucket.

I then went through my kitchen and took out items to place on the new shelves.  It made such a huge difference.  I found things I forgot we had or were just going unused because they were not as visible.  These items really stand out on the new shelves and will get used more often now.
A side by side of the difference.  Lots more space and more light and open.  One last neat thing about these shelves is we can add more shelving if we want to!  All we have to do is buy the shelf and screw it on.  Also, I can stain or paint them if I want to.  Very versatile.

If you are interested in these shelves they are from the Gorm series.

Have a great weekend all and take some time to organize!
