Blog Award

Hello out there!  What a week it has been.  The biggest thing happening here right now is our computer issues.  I miss getting on and seeing what everyone is up to and posting on my blog.  It is hit or miss with this computer right now, so be patient with me as my posts might not be as often.

Now for some good news!  Evelyn over at My Turn (for Us) has nominated my blog for a Liebster Blog Award!  How awesome is that for ya?  I am so flattered and happy!  I told her she made my whole week.  Head on over to her blog and check out her many family stories and adventures!

So now it is my turn to pass on the award to 5 blogs that I think are awesome and differently worth sharing!

1.  Unique By U  Ursie has so many great ideas on everything from crafts to home decor.  I love to see what she is going to do next!

2.  Four Marrs and One Venus  Jen has a wonderful blog.  She writes about craft ideas and her family.  Go see for yourself and enjoy.

3.  Two Yellow Birds Decor  Jill has a fantastic blog full of craft ideas.  Go visit and get inspired!  I do every time I read her blog!

4.  Life on the Miracle-Round  Kim has a beautiful blog with craft and recipe ideas.  She also has great ideas on spending quality and fun family time together.

5.  Lovely memories  Daisy has a cool blog where you can check out her awesome eye for fashion, cooking  and get craft ideas too.  Go take a look!

That was fun!  I hope everyone has a good time visiting all of these awesome ladies!

It's a Plant Holder!

Hey everyone!  Hope your Monday has been great!  We have had some computer issues going on at The Waits household, so I was not able to do my Easy Menu Monday.  Sorry!  Hopefully next week things go better!  If I had a new hard drive things would be great and we may have to get a new one soon.  I highly recommend backing up pictures and videos.  Also, anything you do on your blog!  I am sure most of you back up everything already, but for us procrastinators it takes something happening to get done what needs to be done!

I am going to share with you the plant holder I did last week.  I had an old bathroom metal shelf that I had been hanging onto and decided it would be great for holding plants.  Here is a before of the shelf:

We had some left over blue spray paint and I thought, why not!
Then we hung it up on the back fence with a couple of wood screws.
Looks good right?  Next we needed some planters.  I got 3 plastic planters and we screwed those into the fence because I did not want them to fall off since the planter is up high on the fence.
These are ready for some plants!

I love it!  We left a space for another planter if I want one, but for now there is a birdhouse that my son and I made together sitting there looking good.  I can see this from my backdoor and it makes me smile every time!  I love reusing things from around the house and making them shine again and giving it a new purpose!  What have you reused around your house lately?

Spring is in the air

I love Spring!  Everything coming back to life and beaming for all to see!  I cannot wait for all of our plants to show us their color.  Plus, I cannot wait to do some new mulching, planting and decorating the yard up!  Woo-hoo!  Here are a few pictures of our yard eager to bloom.

Red Tip Photinia have already bloomed.  Love them so much.  Cannot wait till we can shape these into small tree like shrubs.

A friendly and beautiful moth stopped by and said hey, I think I will stick around here for awhile!  Haha!
 Wondering Jew.
 A type of Mexican Petunia
 Plumbego.
 Mexican Petunia.
Sweet Potato Vine.  These plants are amazing and super hardy!

 English Ivy
Oh, Little Blooming Zoey!  She is the prettiest in the garden!  With a touch of pizza sauce on her nose!

I look forward to sharing more pictures when these are in full bloom!  Yipee  for Spring Time!
