Happy Monday! We have had a great morning here. My daughter's friend got her a build a bear gc for her Birthday and we just got back from getting it. We all went to Build a Bear, had lunch and now the girls are playing with their bears. What a wonderful gift!
I put together our fall wreath for the front door last week. I didn't want to have to spend any money on this one but I ended up shelling out $4.00 for the ribbon. Not bad at all. Here is the wreath on our door.
Here is what I did to make the wreath.
I cut strips from an old t-shirt to use for the flowers.
I used a packet of orange kool-aid to dye the t-shirt strips. Yep that's right! I had it on hand and thought why not try it. It worked pretty well. I would have liked the color to be a little darker, but maybe next time I could just use two packets. Oh, and no need to add sugar! What is kinda funny is that, we really don't drink kool-aid. I bought several packs long ago and am really happy I could find a use for them.
I wrapped half the wreath with twine and then made my flowers from the t-shirt strips. I used small black pins to keep them on.
Here is my $4.00 ribbon from Hobby Lobby. Not too impressed with my bow but that's okay. I love the pattern!
There you have it! My mom told me to finish the wreath and go all around with twine. I like the half and half but maybe for later in the season I will change it up with more twine and some pumpkins.
Have a great day everyone!

Fall Mantel
Happy Wednesday! The week is half way over and the weekend will be here in the blink of an eye! Blink! Well, almost!
I have gotten my Fall Mantel done and pretty pleased. We will be getting a cold front this weekend. So instead of 104 degrees it will be a cool 89 degrees. Hey, it is cooler. That is just Central Texas weather!
Back to the mantel. I wanted to do something really simple and not spend alot of money. I think I accomplished both those goals.
Let's start with the things I already had on hand. The sign, doggie plate, pumpkin and frame. The doggie plate is kind of put there in memory of our dog who we had to put down last month. He had been with us for over 10 years. When he was younger, he looked alot like the dog on the plate. It is up there as a happy reminder of him and how wonderful he was to us.
I printed out a Fall Bucket List from Pinterest(http://howtonestforless.com/2012/08/17/fall-bucket-list-free-printable/) and placed it into this red frame with some tan scrapebook paper behind the list.
The orange vases I picked up at our new Goodwill Store. I got both for $4.31. I then got some twigs from the back yard and popped them inside.
So there is our Fall Mantel. Simple and inexpensive just like I wanted.
