Hello out there! Hope everyone is having a great week! Last week my husband and I celebrated 7 years of marriage. My great man knowing me like he does bought me a new entertainment center for a gift! Plus a beautiful card and flowers! Here is a picture of the old entertainment center:
We got this one from Crate and Barrel maybe 4 or 5 years ago. It has two shelves on either side and glass doors that slide. My daughter has been climbing on this since she could walk and always playing with the glass doors. The big spot behind the TV is where our old TV got ripped off the wall when our house was broken into(not ready to post about that event yet). As you will see in the next pictures that looks alot better now. So here is the new entertainment center and new organizing:
Yes! Love it! We got this one from IKEA. It is an Expedit shelving unit turned onto its side. I love all the openness of it. The file boxes on the bottom left I got at the Container Store and I have had for years. I just found a new use for them. I am storing school mementos inside now. You cannot really see it in the picture but in the bottom right we have a large case full of photo and music cds. I have a new home for my scrapbooks too. They fit perfectly on the shelf. We also painted this wall a lighter color and it really shows well in the picture.
These photo books I got from Target on clearance for less than $4.00 a piece. The boxes are from IKEA.
Well, there we have it! I am really enjoying our new entertainment center. The best part, my daughter cannot climb on this one! Well, not easily at least! Have a great week and take some time to organize.

Summer Wreath
Happy Summer Time! Well, technically not yet, but close enough here in Texas! We got to 94 degrees here today. Can you say hot? HOT!
My son and daughter had some friends over today to kick off summer break. Water guns, slip-n-slide, popsicles and cupcakes. They had a good time.
Yesterday I decided to change the wreath up on the front door to make it a little more summer like. Here is a picture of what it looked like for spring.
It took me forever to wrap it, so I left the yarn on and just made two minor changes. I took off the flowers and used cupcake liners and stick pins. I got the cupcake liner idea from Hating Martha(wreaths). So simple, but it made a big change. The second thing was changing the ribbon out. Here is the new look.
Wow! Simple changes can make such a big difference. I really like it! Welcome Summer!

Teacher Gift
Well, it is the end on another school year. I sometimes feel like life is in warp speed mode! Anyway, tomorrow is the class party at my son's school. They are doing a breakfast. I am looking forward to it! I made cards for some of the staff like music, art, gym, etc. His main teacher is getting a card and gift. Here is how I did the cards.
These are all the supplies I used to make the cards. I printed from Pinterest some cool printables for thank yous. I wish I could remember the main source but I didn't keep it! Sorry! The cards were very simple to make. To save on printer ink, I printed in black and white and filled in the main words. I like how it turned out. I cut scrapbook paper and glued cut out printable on top. Then we wrote a little message on the back. I had everything on hand, so these cards didn't cost a thing.
I was told third grade would be a challenging year and boy, whoever told me that was right. Today was the awards program at school and my son received highest GPA for a boy in his class, A-B Honor roll all year and Outstanding Language Arts Achievement. To say we are proud is an under-statement. Sometimes I feel like we push too much and other times I feel like we don't push enough! I am not sure if there is a happy place for both ways, but today I felt like we must be doing something right! Zane is an awesome and amazing person and we are proud to call him son.

For his teacher gift I got her a gift card to Starbuck's and some chocolate. I wrapped the gifts along with the card with yellow yarn and then bent a pipe cleaner to form an M her last name initial.
